This blog was created for the purpose of telling stories and events about mainly two family lines...the Jones (my maternal) side of the family and the Silva (my paternal) side. However there are other branched off lines such as the Bojorquez, De Leon, Neilson, and the Rubel sides (and many others) that are to be mentioned as well, as they go farther back. I have wonderful pioneer history and many of my ancestors originally come from places including Denmark, Hungary, England, Sweden, Norway, Mexico, Spain, and Portugal. These are my loved ones...and these are their stories.

My Testimony

About Me:

I love blogging! It's like an 'easy' journal for me. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints...and I love being a Mormon. I have a firm belief of the promise given to Elijah of how the hearts of the children will turn to their fathers. This is why I have created this blog, so that I may be able to help in the fulfillment of that promise and complete more fully my Family History work and preserve the memories of my ancestors for generations to come. My Heavenly Father is so good to me and I know he will help me in all-aspects of this work.

Sara Bojorquez Silva

First of all, my grandmother is a wonderful human being who has striven to raise her children in the gospel and do what is right. She along with grandpa are some of my most favorite people. I love them very much. Grandma raised 8 children and moved from place to place throughout those childhood raising years. Often times grandpa would be gone for air force duties and grandma would take the children to church and continue every day life without help from grandpa during those times. She truly is a remarkable woman. I am so proud to have her as my grandma.  Grandma cooks amazing Mexican food and has a beautiful garden outside. She makes her own tea from the mint leaves grown in the back of the house and decorates her home with spoons from all over the world and Indian atire. My grandma is surprisingly hilarious beyond description and has a quick and witty tongue. She has such love for her rather large family and will spank my daddy anytime I call and ask. Haha just kidding...I love you abuelita!

Poem by Grandma: Sara Bojorquez Silva

God is my Father

The Lord is my Redeemer.

Truth is my religion.

Work is my blessing.

Love is my law.

Intelligence is my business.

Discipline is my challenge.

Justice is my actions.

Peace is my goal.

Life eternal is my hope.

My neighbor is my brother.

My conscience is my guide.

My companion is my friend.

My family is my joy.

The tree of  knowledge of good and evil does not grow in the soil of science. .
the tree of knowledge of good and evil must be planted in the soul of every man.
La tierra no tiene sed de la sangre delos soldados.
sino del sudor de los hombres.

                                                            To my grown-up Son:

My hands were busy through the day
I didn't have much time to play
the little games you asked me to
I didn't have much time for you

I'd wash your clothes, I'd sew and cook
but when you'd bring your picture book
and ask me please to share your fun
I'd say :"a little later, son"

I'd tuck you in all safe at night
and hear your prayers, turn out the light,
then tip-toe softly to the door...
I wish I'd stayed a minute more.

For life is short , the years rush past....
a little boy grows so fast
no longer is he at my side
his precious secrets to confide

The picture books are put away,
there are no longer games to play,
no good-night kiss, no prayers to hear...
that all belongs to yesteryear.

My hands, once busy, now are still.
the days are long and hard to fill.
I wish I could go back and do
the little things you asked me to.
                                                                     To my son Arthur
                                                                                            with love Mom.

MY MEMORIES: (by Sara)

The first thing I remember

About my life is when we lived in booth. I was 3 years old. I remember only details or ecenas of when I went with my dad to bring the milk with Don Chencho. Milk was newly ordered. I do not think that it was the first time that I have done with the just leche but I remember once in particular time I was small of age, and the fact that I was always chiquita's stature. My dad always carried me in his arms. I was always very attached to my dad.

He and I, we had some games that only us knew, we would do ugly faces to each other there and whoever would turn towards the other with a face more ugly…won. My dad called this game "chango" of course I always won, and I remember that I would always think of it as a great triumph. This hard game went on for many years.

I also remember the day when we came to live at CD, Juarez. I premiered a white dress with red stems that my grandmother Lola made me for this ocasion. My grandmother Lola, my grandmother materna. She was my only grandmother that I remember. Auque I was already born when my grandmother Carmen who was my grandmother, died when I had one year of age and I do not remember anything from it. I also have a vague memory in my mind, still when I lived in the Caseta. That is passing is the town where I was born on July 14, 1943. volviendo to my vague memory, Buen my mom and I were in the truck that ran into Cd, Juarez to all the people of the Valley of the Bravo district, which is to which belonged the village of Caseta. I remember which was lloviedo and down from the truck they stayed awhile to expect that the rain pasara. Later to stop raining, my mom me infiltrator of the hand and proceeded to walk. I remember that she lifted me into the air every time that we crossed by a puddle so I wouldn’t wet my shoes. My mama told me later, that on this occasion, we went with the dentist and that was when she put their plates dentales. I remember nothing of where we went or did, only the fun that was for my which I lifted in the air to jump over the pond of water.

I remember we had a dog, although my dad told me after we had two dogs, I only remember one.

I can't remember everything. I believe that we were not long in Juarez because my memories eye-popping booth at the ranch of Mr. Sweet stand trip to Juarez. In the State of New Mexico .E.U.A not be long live in the United States. My papa had a passport's work and took us to the family, that at the time was comprised of my parents, Rogelio Bojorquez Rios y Amalia Cobarruvias Serrano. My eldest brother Jesus Maria, my brother Manuel, my sister Josephine and I, Sara, who was the youngest in the family or also known as "coyotita" as I said my papa, had a  nickname that was given to the son or daughter of the familia. I was about 3-4 at the time.

At the time of my life I remember a bit more. Although I don't remember which step first and which was then, remember that once we had to turn to the guest in our House, I had very cold, but I wanted to be with the group from outside because they had candles lit and auque not let me have my own sailing, my brother Jesus paid me his sailing in analitica, not without removing your hand from the mia. When at last opened us the door my breast I infiltrator in their hands, I envolvio in a blanket, and already didn't over as term flophouse because I I was asleep.

On another occasion I remember that we come to EL PASO, TEXAS and my parents came to store things used, I found a tricycle exactly my size and I got to walk through all the other articles for sale. My tricycle vajarme they wanted to go. and in the end they had to buy it. On another occasion we went to the Park Washington.en El Paso, Texas was the first see that prove "cotton candy'" I remember that I was much laughter that is me desaparecia sweet to put me in the mouth but not before letting me a flavor rich .by many years I wanted to eat it again, but I never knew as it was or as it was called, I would like some 12 years more or less when my mom bought me a "cotton candy" and try it out I di account which was the same sweet of my memories.

I remember that a see were my cousins and I, playing under the "treila" where is vasiaban cotton which our fathers walked piscando decided to go to our home. That would be like a mile or more away from where our parents were working. My cousin Eduardo (Lalo) which was the Perez family. his mother my aunt Eva, was the sister of my dad, and my cousin Susan who was the Hernandez family. his mother my tia Dolores (lola) was another sister of my papa.los three we walked the route of the railway until you reach the entrance of the road that came to our houses, I do not remember how long we were outside, or when mos menos.pero made when already regresabamos, saw coming to my uncle Lucius, who was the Pope of his with a wand in the hand. I do not remember the end of this adventure.

Another of my memories was when I bought a "Teddy bear", was as big as me, and as not it could load I lost interest in playing with the asito and lost. Reinstalled does not know of the.

On the Mr.Sweet Ranch. My dad worked piscando cotton, I helped my mom, and also my brethren, the children let us playing near the treila where the workers basiavan his full cotton bags.

and at the same you see could monitor us, I was not the only nina had other families, who as mia walked all working at the hint of cotton.

I remember once I went to look for my dad to Groove where the walked piscando I comense to walk by the same Groove, but by the handsome side to find me with, but I found a man that you decian "prieta Cap" started to run to tell my dad that prieta Cap you came stealing his cotton my dad I infiltrator in their hands and me ride his rib and followed working and I very happy paseandome in his bag of cotton.

I don't remember how long we were at the ranch of Mr.Sweet.pero what if remember is that when we were there. It was the first time we went to the Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the last days.(Mormons) my parents already knew about the Church. Because my dad had worked on the construcion of stand Chapel when still lived there.

Then returned to Mexico, but only my parents, my sister Josephine and I, my brothers Jesus and Manuel stayed in the United States, they never actually returned to live with us .ellos ended in crecer.hasta were married.

We live in Ciudad Juarez. I remember that lived by the Arroyo Colorado

that was in that then on the banks of the city. I only remember it was winter and lived in a single room was very cold we had a stove of oil.I remember that my Mom took me out of bed and I tangled in a blanket and sat down in front of the stove to keep warm, while she cocia in the comal corn tortillas. at the end of the Mace was always suficiante to make me a gordita of corn than my mom opened by the Bank, you put pork lard and salt. and a cup of you calientito cinnamon. that was my lunch. but for a 4 years nina was sufficient, because everything was accompanied by the love of my parents.

Remember that time of my childhood. again, I feel the love of my parents.

not is how long we live in that House .creo that was only the invierno.nos moved to another House, but I do not remember where remained, only I remember my grandmother Lola lived with us and since then lived in our House until he died. It was at that time that my grandmother we started to take my sister Josefina and me to a Christian that group be assembled every Sunday in a fourth small.

It was there where I learned some verses in hymns still recuedo.fueron my first lessons in Dios. I learned to repeating Psalms of the Bible to lie me and others to get up. It was my grandmother Lola that I told stories of the Bible for the first time. that my I looked like fairy stories. I think it was the incistencia of my grandmother to Psalms and hymns memorized what development in my ability to memorize things for the rest of my life.

Also I remember my grandmother me towards my dolls of cloth with Stamen-hair, eyes, the ears, nose and mouth were embroidered with bast of colors, she also me towards all my dresses. After she died, when I was 6 years old, my mama continuous haciendome my clothes. My mom had a catalog of "Sears", and I would model my garments, then took me to the retacerias of the Paso.a choose the fabric

(retacerias were stores that sold pieces of fabrics which have large rolls and as they were surplus pieces are sold very cheap) but my mom always was large enough pieces to get my dress or what combined with another piece. I always changed the original model, adding one or two bags to my dresses, to my always liked my garments to have bags. My MOM also me towards my background, my pajama flannel in the winter and light cotton for summer.

After my uncle ladies Ruiz, who was the husband of my aunt Eloisa only my mom sister, bought a very large street Uruguay House 206 sur.en Cd.Juarez.y as the family Ruiz lived on a ranch in Cedillos.D.B. that was his property. My uncle, asked my parents to us movieramos to the House to take care of her, my grandmother Lola, and my uncle Jose who was brother of my mom and my aunt Eloisa and only son of my grandmother and the youngest of his family. also moved to the House, we had four rooms, living room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms to dormir.uno of these rooms was where dormia my grandmother. will Hill the door linking the 2 quarter-back and lived there with my uncle Jose. So in that we lived in family property. It was at that time that I started to go to school for first year. The school was to ten blocks from my house, was the school closer. My sister Josefina and many children more caminabamos all together to the same escuela.en that school not had or discipline and surveillance. because I I came out of school at the time that I Wattled and me VAT to my house, and never asked me anything. then I walked by myself to my house, I knew that I had to walk right without flip on any street until you reach a gas station, there was back and on the next block there was my house.

Next year they changed school to another location a little closer. But my MOM already not I wanted to put in that school and I switch to a private school just one block from my house. And begin again my primary school. There groups were guys not more than 15 pupils per class .mucha discipline and strict with school subjects. All vestiamos in uniform on a daily basis. The ninas com a light blue dress with blue lines abcuro. Navy blue socks and black shoes and a blue bonnet. Children vestian pant of masclilla obcuro and white guayabera calcetin obcuro and black shoe. spent daily magazine the shoes and the rest of the uniform .teniamos that be fine hair, the girls with long hair had that have it collected and if it was short very well combed all day began with a prayer for help to the rest of the day. I I started to feel a little adisgusto because my family to then were not Catholics. that in fact never so I went, because my parents never attended mass. only to baptize us children and by the fact that my parents were married by the Catholic Church in Las Animas

in the State of Colorado.USA. I talk about this matter that bothered me with my mom but she gave no importance, as already mentioned that already were not Catholics because my parents, my sister Josephine and I we were baptized in the city of Jesucristo of Saints of the last days.

(Mormon) during 5 years lived with the nickname of "Jewish" as not "Christian" so interpreted you my companeras at the school, but there I learned to be good student, and that helped me a lot in the future in the last year of elementary school I was very rebellious with my mom, and did not want to go to that school, and myself I registered in a school publishes .in that last year my MOM never attended any function of my school.

at the end of my elementary school, I wanted to go to nursing school but I needed my secondary studies before taking courses in nursing.

I found a school in which could study two courses to the same ves was in at the civil Hospital "Freedom" the only thing that is impartian pre-vocasional and vocasional at the same time courses, which were actually secondary and nursing. I had to study very hard, the day began at 7 in the morning and ended at 6 pm, including Saturdays. in the summer only we had a month of rest.

as it and said, I was always size chiquita therefore only grew to measure 4pies 11pulgadas always went the more chiquita in all my classes. in the national holidays such as. on 16 September. the independence day. 5 Mayo.victoria in the battle of Puebla. 20 Nov. the revolution day adventurous than my school had to participate in the parades always me escogian to my to go at the head of the group with the banner that had the name of the school.

again later to my memories of my school years.

I would like to mention that it was my aunt ' lola "which again put us in contact with the Church"mormón"." When my family returned from the United States .the family Hernandez also returned to Mexico, I think it was when they were converted and was baptized. but I'm not very segura.cuando us we moved to the property of my uncle ladies Ruiz, touched the casualided that my aunt lola lived a few blocks from my house, and the place where were assembled the members of the city was a commercial premises on the street Vicente Guerrero, he was between his home and ours, my aunt came all Sunday to greet my parents and invite us to go to church with them. my parents have never accepted the invitation, but my aunt asked permission to my parents that if left to my sister and I were with her and her family to the Church, my mom always accepted and my sister and I empesamos to go with my aunt and her family, the family of my aunt Lola is comprised of my uncle Candelario Hernandez, so some never regrouped to the Church with the family, in fact not be if Member or not, their daughter greater Aurora (bory) was my cousin Louis, Arturo, Susana, Jesus (chuy) Alfredo and Eva.asi which actually was a sacrifice to my aunt carry two ninas but to the Church in addition to its family of siete.pero was the result of that slaughter a few years after my parents, my sister and I, we bautizaramos in the Church my dad inactive a few two or three years later than us bautisamos. but my mom, my sister Josephine and I are still active and faithful. My aunt Lola and his family migrated to United States .mi aunt died a few years later and his family grew and settled in the State of California.no the reinstalled to see. I have news of them by my brother Jesus, also established in California, the Perez family emigrated to the United States and they had a family of ten children, his son eldest Demetrius (tito) it was my godfather of baptism in the Catholic Church, my cousin Bertha, Jesus Maria (Chita) Gilberto, Jose, Alfonso, (poncho) Eduardo (lalo) that we were of the same age and were born in stand the two. Lucius Jr.y relief (socy) as well as the family Moya, only us Bojorquez family and the brother of my dad who was my uncle refuge (cuckoo) mos are left to live in Mexico, to this year 2007 which was when I started to write these memories .i Sara Bojorquez Silva at the age of 65 years and seen moving to the generation of my parentsall my uncles, aunts, and many of my cousins and cousins, and until my sister Josefina died 3 years later.

-Grandma and Jose were sealed in the Mesa, Arizona temple after being civilly married on May 19, 1959.
